Pumpkin Pie Playdough

Something about fall makes me want to start cooking and never stop: apple streusel pie, pumpkin cheesecake pie, pumpkin pancakes, and soup, soup and more soup.

Of course, the kids want in on the action. They like to mix and stir yummy smelling things, so to make their day complete, pumpkin pie playdough was born.

1. Cook up a batch of your favorite playdough recipe.
2. Add orange food coloring and pumpkin pie spice to make it smell very nice.
3. Warn your kids that it will NOT taste as great as it smells, and then go laugh hysterically in the other room when the youngest one just has to try it. (And try not to get caught telling your friends on the phone, later.)

After the playdough has cooled to the point where little fingers will not get burned, the fun begins in earnest. The girls had a plate of very tasty smelling pumpkin cookies to offer their dad.
