Getting My Priority in Order

"Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity..." Ephesians 5:15-16a (NIV)

"...look first for the kingdom of God..." (Matthew 6:33)

My friends and I talk rather frequently about how busy we are, like it's some badge of honor that we have that many things to do and places to go. Then we complain that we are tired and we need to slow down. So we all get on the crazy train and try to cut out activities, only to find out that we pile more into the schedule in place of the things we just erased. It all gets faster and faster until something brings the whole thing to a screeching halt, and nothing in that scenario is fun for anyone.

Somewhere (short term memory loss), I read that the original Greek word for priorities was singular. I think that's screaming at me loud and clear that I have got to readjust my definition of the word!

One eyeball, one view, one member in the audience. Evidently, I need to simplify more than the junk in my closets!

  2. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll have to think on this one and see if we can't figure out how to reprioritize life together.

Want an interesting perspective on life that my mom sent me. In fact I found it interesting enough that I borrowed the author's book and am currently working my way through it and finding it very powerful.
